More than 100 years ago the old water tower in Bogense was built in connection to the new waterworks.
The originally plan was to place the water tower in the middle of the Market Square, but as the citizens protested, it was placed at its present location.
Right from the beginning the water tower has also been used as a look-out. From the open platform at the top of the tower the inhabitants as well as the tourists would have a unique view towards the Little Belt, Jutland and - not least - Æbelø.
Through the ages the water tower has only been open to the public on some occasions.
Today the water tower has been reopend to the public and during the season the view can be enjoyed from the top together with various art exhibitions.
